Picking a vehicle you want to buy is tricky enough for most people. But sometimes it’s even worse; when you come across two vehicles and you fall in love with both of them. You could always flip a coin to help yourself decide, but why leave such an important decision up to chance? You’re better off taking a more objective approach to helping you make up your mind.
- First, you need to ask yourself an important question that could save you a lot of trouble: “Do I love one of these cars more than the other?” If the answer is yes, then your decision isn’t really all that difficult. You’ll be spending a good amount of money on the car whether you buy it cash or finance it, so it makes sense to go with the one you love. However, if the answer isn’t so obvious, you need to take it a step further.
- A great way to choose between two vehicles is by creating a side-by-side comparison of the benefits and drawbacks of each one. You can include things like the potential monthly payment, features, gas mileage, and anything else that comes to mind. There’s a good chance that when you look at both cars side-by-side, one might come out as the clear favorite.
- Another way you can help make your decision easier is by taking each vehicle out on a longer test-drive. Make sure you pay attention to how each one feels, how comfortable you are behind the wheel, and which one seems like a better “fit” for you. Perhaps one feels much more comfortable and natural than the other, which should be an enormous factor in your decision-making process.
- Try to take a step back and ask yourself what is the most important factor for you is when it comes to your new vehicle. Is it the price and monthly payment? Is it the fuel economy? Is it reliability? Is it size? If you’re having a hard time deciding between two vehicles, then go with the one that’s most closely matches the factors that are the most important for you.
And if, after all of this, you still can’t make up your mind, then maybe you should flip a coin.
